RETREATS AT RMERC

OUR VISION

Our Vision

Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center is a home for low-cost meditation retreats and workshops in nature. The programs we are most excited about include:

  • Ecodharma workshops and retreats for activists, using the healing power of meditation in nature to ground and transform activism into a spiritual path of service to the community and to the earth.
  • Low cost retreats that are offered in the spirit of generosity, with teachers receiving only expenses and donations (Dana).
  • All spiritual practice traditions are welcome, and local Sanghas are encouraged to use RMERC for weekends and day-longs as well as for longer group retreats.
  • Retreats for underserved communities including people of color, veterans, youth, and other groups who have historically borne or will bear the brunt of ecological and socio-economic devastation; and are often at the forefront of spiritually-rooted activism.

RETREAT PRICING

Generally, the price of overnight group retreats at RMERC is in the range of about $90 to $180 per night, depending on shoulder season or peak season time of the retreat, early-bird or standard pricing, and type of lodging selected (see lodging types here). Please check our calendar listing for prices for a particular retreat.

RMERC SCHOLARSHIPS

As an ecodharma center, we bring the spirit and tradition of the Buddhist teachings to cultivate wisdom and compassion needed to address the ecological crisis and inextricably related social justice issues. In the spirit of this mission, the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center is bringing the practice of generosity (dana) forward and is committed to offering financial assistance to as many people who genuinely need it as possible. Please see our retreat listings for information about scholarship availability in a particular retreat, or contact the retreat leader.

PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS

The payment, cancellation and scholarship policies vary by retreat. Please see the Things to Know section at the bottom of each retreat description.

The price of retreats is set as low as possible and covers only retreat center expenses. None of the fee goes to the leaders, who are solely supported by the voluntary dana offerings of yogis. In the tradition of the Buddha, the amount of the dana offering is up to each individual. We do ask that your offering be as generous as your finances allow in order to support the tireless efforts of the leaders. Please bring a check or cash. We are very grateful for your support.

GENERAL RETREAT INFORMATION

Please check with your leader or the retreat listing about specifics of meals. Typically, meals are vegetarian and may include eggs or dairy, with vegan and gluten-free options available. In some cases, meals are vegan only. Usually the cook can accommodate common food allergies such as gluten or dairy, but not food preferences. Make sure to include any special allergy or health needs you have during registration.

Tea, coffee and such are available all day long, along with some simple snacks such as mixed nuts and fruit. If you want a snack between meals, or supplemental protein, you can bring a small quantity of packaged unrefrigerated food. Please do not bring anything that needs refrigeration (medicine excepted). Excessive snacks are unnecessary: if you need a boost, a little gorp or an energy bar is sufficient for most people.
